Updates, Tips & Plans
18 January 2025 - Eliminate the need for 2FA authorisation
If having to add the 4 digit SMS code when logging in is a little too awkward or restrictive, we also offer the opportunity of simply limiting your login to three IP addresses - say, work, home and via a mobile.
To obtain your IP address go to:
https://whatismyipaddress.com
The IPv4 address is what's needed.
When on a phone, be sure to have WiFi turned off so your IP is that of your 4/5G service provider.
Contact us with your IP addresses and we'll deactivate 2FA for your account.
Be sure not to use a VPN when accessing CDA as a VPN is specifically designed to obfuscate IP addresses.
TIP: When travelling, use your phone as a WiFi hotspot for your laptop, tablet or guest PC.
20 Sep 2024 - Inactive account deletion
Account holders that haven't logged in within 12 months are now being automatically deleted.
15 Sep 2024 - Fee increase
The current $15 +GST fee for 3 hours of unlimited searches will change on 1 October 2024 to:
$17.50 +GST for 8 hours of unlimited searches.
All other fees will remain unchanged.
13 July 2024 - Searching by an initial
Generally, the given name and surname search fields require at least two characters. However, by using an equal sign (as per the Advanced name search techniques), if needed you can search for people with just the first initial of say, D, by using =D in the respective given name field.
QLD District and Supreme Court criminal matters now also include names where there is only a surname and initial/s. At times there can be 2, 3 or even 4 initials with a surname.
20 May 2024 - QLD Criminal Case Lookup
Lookup upcoming criminal cases for all Qld courts by a person's name (a DOB is required) or company name.

21 January 2024 - UK Searches
Searching UK court list records is now live on the CDA Search page.
There are records from April / October 2023 onwards covering England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
On 29 April 2025 there are over 4.2 million UK records. Around 10,000 records are added daily.
In January 2025 the majority of Magistrates CP matters for England and Wales commenced showing offences.
14 October 2023 - One-off searches
The CDA database currently offers only two search criteria - a State and a name.
However, if you need to identify records that match any other criteria (e.g. a date range, case number, court official, location) and have an active paid account, contact us with the details and we will run that request for you.
If there are multiple results, we will supply that data in a csv file with up to 1,000 results if you have an annual account, or 200 results for all other active accounts.
The number of requests that can be done each month does have a limit, but we will make this assessment on a case-by-case basis.
10 April 2023 - The following CDA links will be added to new CDA records for NSW, VIC & WA. The links provide direct access to those state websites where future court lists can be searched.
https://cda-link.info/NSW_Future_Records
Select the appropriate "Date" option for up to 3 weeks in advance. Old records only go back 7 days (and they are not complete).
https://cda-link.info/VIC_Future_Records
Select Criminal or Civil, leave the date blank and complete the "Defendant / Accused / Respondent" section. Old records only go back several days.
https://cda-link.info/WA_Future_Records
Complete the surname and given name sections, plus the Captcha. There are no old records.
26 Mar 2023 - Over 400K old NSW Probate records are currently being added to the database. They cover the period Jan 2013 to Dec 2022.
13 Mar 2023 - Over 900K VIC Probate records were added today.
26 Feb 2023 - Server updates were completed yesterday resulting in navigation and search speed increases.
The maximum 20 free name search limit no longer results in account suspension requiring you to contact us to reactivate your account. When that 20 search limit is reached, further searches cannot be conducted. You then just need to upgrade to paid access.
25 Feb 2023 - NT Probate records were added.
Probate records for ACT, QLD & NSW are now included in the database. We also have plans to add probate matters for other states.
31 Jan 2023 - Searching NZ & PNG court records from within the CDA database is now live.
The NZ records cover the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the NZ High Court from May 2018 onwards and the PNG records cover the Supreme & National Courts since 2012. Both NZ & PNG records are updated weekly.
Paid CDA accounts will be able to access the full NZ and PNG data without any additional cost. Free CDA accounts will be able to see whether a name is in those databases.
15 January 2023 - The CDA Alerts system now incorporates Advanced Search Techniques.
For example, if you add equal signs (=) before and after Smith (e.g. =smith= ) your Alerts will only get matches for "Smith" surnames and not for example "Arrowsmith".
If you add an equal sign to the first given name (e.g. =John William), only new records matching that text as the first part of the given name/s will be returned - you will avoid getting an Alert for "Frederick John William".
